“A man’s ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.” – Albert Einstein
“Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.” – Seneca The Younger
“And if there were a God, I think it very unlikely that He would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence” – Bertrand Russel
“Religion is like a blind man looking in a black room for a black cat that isn’t there, and finding it.” – Oscar Wilde
”It’s absolutely safe to say that if you meet somebody who claims not to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid, or insane.” – Richard Dawkins
In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I am a Polyatheist.
Scott Walker is just another one of the out-of-touch GOP idiots who doesn’t seem to understand what’s happening. He continues to go on the offensive even in the midst of a very energized recall campaign against him. There is little doubt that this corrupt governor will be replaced in short order. This will be only the third time in our history that voters will decide to recall a sitting governor.
This will also be the beginning of many more recalls, at all levels, as citizens decide to take back their government from the corrupt and out-of-touch elected officials.
When (not if) Walker is removed, the first domino will have fallen.
A man is flying in a hot air balloon and realizes he is lost. He reduces height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts: “Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?”
The man below says: “Yes, you’re in a hot air balloon, hovering 30 feet above this field.” You must be an engineer” says the balloonist. “I am” replies the man. “How did you know.” “Well,” says the balloonist, “everything you have told me is technically correct, but it’s no use to anyone.” The man below says “you must be in management.” “I am” replies the balloonist, “but how did you know?” “Well,” says the man, “you don’t know where you are, or where you’re going, but you expect me to be able to help. You’re in the same position you were before we met, but now it’s my fault.”
Anyone paying even a little attention to the pulse of our country will realize that the Republicans are slowly self-destructing. By November, the out-of-touch desperation of the Republican party will be obvious to voters. Obama will win his second term handily.
The more important question is: What will Obama do in his second term?
If his first term is any indication, he’ll likely be inert. The “change” that Obama campaigned upon in his first bid for the White House has been a no-show so far. Obama has affected very little change in his first four years.
One hopeful sign about Obama is his increasing awareness of social engineering. His re-election campaign is beginning to activate some very socially-aware grass-root approaches to fund raising and organizing around the country. If these efforts are continued in a smart way, I believe Obama will enjoy a landslide victory in November.
Let’s hope this experience will also tune Obama’s ear to the people’s voice.
I’ve always been a huge fan of opensource software. But now I’m very pleased to see the beginnings of an opensource movement that goes beyond the software realm.
Marcin Jakubowski is a sharp, foreward-thinking soul who will likely begin to change the economics of sustainable farming globally. His OpenSource Ecology group will also likely change the field of Industrial Design too.
Opensource Ecology
This is true industrial design for the people! See more of these projects and learn how to become involved at OpenSourceEcology.
